2.40 Chepstow Bama Lama 9/1 4 places Each Way

Bama Lama has gone through sixteen races without a win since 2021. However, in a recent handicap at Leicester over 6 furlongs on heavy ground, he put in a respectable performance and finished fifth out of a field of fourteen at odds of 6/1. Considering his previous effort at this venue last summer, Bama Lama appears to be well weighted for this race and has a good chance of performing well in this lower-grade handicap.

2.50 Newcastle Lady Mendoza 8/1 4 places Bet Goodwin

Irish mare, had a successful start to her career with a win in an Irish point-to-point race during the spring. She followed it up with a positive performance under Rules, finishing second in a novice event over the course and distance on soft ground in November. However, she has failed to perform in her subsequent starts and will need to make a significant comeback. jockey Brian Hughes has a 28% strike rate with the yard over the past couple of years, which is a positive and looks interesting as she makes her handicap debut with cheekpieces added.

3.15 Chepstow Macs Dilemma 9/2 Next Best 

Macs Dilemma has previously won over the course and distance. In his most recent race, a handicap at Brighton over 7 furlongs on good ground, he finished fifth out of nine runners at odds of 12/1. That run would have helped him shake off any rust, and it’s worth noting that he will be competing in this race with a 2-pound lower weight and cheekpieces refitted. Hollie Doyle has a good strike rate here at Chepstow.

3.35 Beverley King Of Tonga 4/1 Nap

Showed improvement in his recent outing, finishing fourth in a 10-runner handicap at Wetherby over 5.5 furlongs on good to soft ground. Previously, he won at Chester in a class 2 event with a rating of 77. Today, he drops down to class 5, Additionally, his jockey carries a helpful 5-pound weight allowance.

6.00 Wetherby Powerful Response 7/1  Each Way 4 places Unibet

Ran as a 100/1 outsider in a minor event at Southwell over 7.1 furlongs, finishing ninth out of 11 runners. This was his first run since leaving the stable of Richard Hannon. However, there are some positive factors to consider for his handicap debut. He is now under the care of a Trainer who is in very good form, having secured 8 winners in the last 30 days. Additionally, Powerful Response has been gelded ahead of this race, which could have a positive impact on his performance. Furthermore, the jockey booking of Callum Rodriguez, who boasts a 30% strike rate with the yard,

6.30 Wetherby Zumurud 12/1 Each Way 4 places Quinnbet

Zumurud is currently only 2 pounds above his last winning mark, indicating that he could be ready to strike. Although he ran decently in his seasonal reappearance, it’s likely that he needed that run to regain full fitness. Additionally, his stable is currently in good form, which adds further encouragement for a better performance here.

7.20 Sligo Gradulations 6/1

Previously won over course and distance. In his most recent outing, finished a commendable sixth out of 16 runners in an 8-furlong handicap race at Limerick on soft ground. If the return here sparks more of a revival looks on a fair mark

8.30 Sligo Nikini 7/4

Willie Mullins representative is making her debut in the GB/IRE Flat racing scene. In her most recent outing, she finished seventh of 14 runners, 9 lengths behind the winner in a listed hurdle race at Punchestown over 16.4 furlongs on good to soft ground. Despite her jumps background, Nikini is expected to be a strong contender in this Flat race based on that form and she is favoured over Rattle And Hum.

8.40 Wetherby Temper Trap 20/1 Unibet 4 places

Finished sixth of eight in a 1-mile handicap race at Thirsk on heavy ground, with odds of 33/1. However, there are positive signs that he is running into form, which is typical for Tim Easterby’s runners. It’s worth noting that out of Temper Trap’s nine career wins, seven have come at class 6 level. Will benefit from a weight advantage as he gets to race off a mark of 60 with the jockey’s claim.
