Tottenham Eye Relegated Goalkeeper as Hugo Lloris’ Replacement In £15m Deal
Tottenham are optimistic about securing £15m deal for international goalkeeper amid Hugo Lloris’ impending departure.
Tottenham keen on landing Gavin Bazunu from Southampton as Hugo Lloris replacement
In the latest update on Tottenham’s transfer activities, the club is reportedly confident about finalising a £15m transfer for Southampton goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu. This move comes as Tottenham prepares for the likely departure of their current captain, Hugo Lloris.
According to Football Insider, Gavin Bazunu, the talented Irish shotstopper, is being strongly considered as the prime candidate to replace Hugo Lloris as Tottenham’s first-choice goalkeeper for the next season.

Despite Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League, Bazunu had a solid start to Premier League football, albeit his recent drop in form leading to him being benched in favour of Alex McCarthy in Southampton’s last four matches.
Nevertheless, Tottenham remains undeterred and continues to show keen interest in acquiring Bazunu’s services. The club is now actively seeking to invest in promising talents who can thrive under the guidance of the new manager.
Southampton’s relegation is expected to trigger the departure of several key players during the summer transfer period. James Ward-Prowse, the highly sought-after midfielder, is also being pursued by Tottenham as they look to bolster their squad.
Hugo Lloris, Tottenham’s current number one, is set to leave the club despite having a year remaining on his contract. The 36-year-old French goalkeeper has reportedly received a lucrative offer from a Saudi Pro League club.
Gavin Bazunu only joined Southampton from Manchester City last summer in a deal worth approximately £12m. Prior to his move to Southampton, Bazunu made impressive loan stints with Rochdale and Portsmouth.

Despite recent setbacks at the club level, Bazunu remains a vital figure for the Republic of Ireland, holding the coveted number 1 position at the age of just 21. The Dublin talent has already amassed 13 senior caps for his country at such a tender age.
