Manchester United Keen on Signing Everton’s Onana this Summer

Manchester United are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Everton’s young midfielder, Amadou Onana, ahead of the summer transfer window. Sources claim that Red Devils’ manager, Erik ten Hag, is keen on adding more physicality and power to his midfield, and Onana fits the bill.

The 21-year-old midfielder has had an impressive debut season with the Toffees, catching the eye of several top teams. He has made 32 appearances across all competitions in the 2022/23 season, scoring once and providing two assists in his 2,471 minutes of first-team action.

Although Onana is contracted to Everton until 2027, however, he is reportedly ready to push for a move, especially if the club gets relegated to the Championship. The Belgium international has been a regular starter for Everton since joining from Lille in a £33million move.

Sean Dyche, the current Everton manager, has praised Onana’s athleticism and powerful presence in midfield, which would be a valuable asset to United’s team. “I think with his physicality, driving into the box is a really good weapon,” said Dyche. “He’s a powerful boy, he will head it and he’s got an eye for it.”

If Manchester United secures Onana’s signature, he will add to the already talented midfield that includes Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen, giving the team an extra edge in their pursuit of titles next season.
