4.10 Beverley – Poet’s Dawn 7/1

Originally I liked Casilli for Mick Easterby but he’s now so favourite so I’m going too take a chance on Poet’s Dawn.
Tim Easterby’s gelding has a great record at Beverley with 5 wins 19 runs, with his last course and distance win coming last August.
He hasn’t won this season yet but had been running on softer ground than ideal and has dropped 3lb too his last winning mark of 71.
Drawn in stall 4 he should get a good position, with his prominent racing style, and might be hard too catch on a track that favours frontrunners.

3.10 Beverley – Sir Maxi e/w
9/2 – Betzone

Ugo Gregory has been backed into favourite today and should go well back at 7 furlongs but I’ll take a chance on Sir Maxi ew.
Won over this course and distance last season off a 2lb higher mark, has been disappointing over a mile on his last 2 runs this season, but with Oisin Murphy booked for the ride and a return to Beverley on better ground, he looks a good bet against the favourite.
Oisen Murphy is 6-10 when riding for Richard Fahey so his booking too ride really catches the eye.
