3.00 Goodwood – Veil of Shadows

A nice group of improving fillies line up for the height of fashion stakes today, but the horse that’s stands out is the Godolphin runner Veil of Shadows. Last seen 3 lengths behind queen of you at Ascot a few weeks ago, the Frankel filly was conceding 9lbs too the winner that day, and was doing her best work at the finish.
Off level weights today, and sure too be suited by the extra 2 furlongs on breeding, she should run well.
William Buick is very good round Goodwood which is also a positive.

Finding herself trouble in running at bath on her first run of the season Clive Cox’s showcasing filly then ran on too be 6th in the group 3 palace house stakes at Newmarket.
The ground was against her that day and she’s better than that.
She showed her best when beating the smart Silky Wilkie last season at Goodwood, giving him weight, from an unfavourable draw in stall 1.
Back on good ground today, in a class 1 listed race, she should get a fast pace too aim at, and the step up too 6 furlongs shouldn’t be a problem (her sire won over 6f).
She rates a confident bet, and I will be very surprised if she doesn’t run much better today.
