Semi Finals Previews
Carlos Alcaraz v Novak Djokovic
The highly anticipated semifinal clash between top-seeded Carlos Alcaraz and third-seeded Novak Djokovic at this year’s French Open promises to be a blockbuster showdown with the potential to serve as the virtual championship match. The two players have contrasting storylines heading into this match, making it all the more intriguing.
Alcaraz, who defeated Djokovic in their previous encounter at the Madrid Masters last year, has been in scorching form and has shown exceptional skills on clay. His progress and remarkable performances have led to him being viewed as the favorite against the highly accomplished Djokovic, a 22-time slam champion. This is a testament to Alcaraz’s growth and the exceptional form he is currently displaying.
On the other hand, Djokovic, known for his ability to elevate his performance in slams, brings an extra layer of excitement to this contest. Despite his limited success on clay this year, he remains a formidable opponent, especially in high-stakes matches. Djokovic’s extraordinary capacity to deliver flawless shots and points during critical moments, as evidenced by his perfect record in tiebreakers at this French Open, adds to the challenge of facing him.
Djokovic, aware that a victory in this match could potentially put him in the lead for the most slam titles in his career, is determined to go the distance and claim the championship trophy. His extensive experience in big matches and his reputation as one of the most clutch players of all time will be key factors in his quest for victory.
While Alcaraz has steamrolled through the competition so far, facing Djokovic will be his first significant on-court challenge during this fortnight. His confidence and exceptional tennis skills on clay make him a deserving favorite, but Djokovic’s presence and motivation cannot be discounted.
This match, labeled as a semifinal, carries the weight and significance of a title decider. The outcome will likely determine the eventual champion unless both players exhaust themselves, leaving the winner at a severe disadvantage in the final. With Alcaraz feeling the pressure and Djokovic relying on his experience in big matches, expect a captivating battle that will be remembered for years to come.
In conclusion, the semifinal clash between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic at the French Open is a highly anticipated showdown that could potentially serve as the virtual championship match. Both players bring their unique storylines, skills, and motivations, making this an enthralling battle that fans won’t want to miss.

Casper Ruud vs Alexander Zverev
Casper Ruud of Norway got his redemption against fellow Scandinavian player Holger Rune in a dominant quarterfinal performance at the French Open. Ruud’s victory came just weeks after a disappointing loss to Rune in the semifinals of the Rome Masters. This time, Ruud maintained his focus throughout the match, winning 6-1, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.
Despite facing challenges with performance and confidence in the past six months, Ruud has consistently delivered impressive results on the big stage. Since the resumption of the tour after the pandemic hiatus in 2020, the 24-year-old has reached the semifinals or better in 12 Masters events, including the ATP Finals, and Grand Slam tournaments. These achievements have silenced critics who questioned his ability to excel in high-profile competitions.
However, for Ruud to truly solidify his place among the elite, he needs to convert his impressive performances into titles. Despite achieving a career-high ranking of #2, he is yet to win a tournament above the ATP 250 level.
In the upcoming French Open semifinals, Ruud faces a formidable opponent in Alexander Zverev. Zverev defeated Tomas Martin Etcheverry in four sets to secure his place in the semis. The German player’s path to this stage was made slightly easier by the upsets caused by Daniel Altmaier and Thiago Seyboth Wild, who eliminated higher-ranked opponents.
Zverev, a former world #2, returned from an injury break earlier this year and has been searching for a notable victory to boost his morale. Although reaching the semifinals is a positive result, he still needs to overcome the challenge of defeating a top-10 opponent, a task he has failed to accomplish in six attempts in 2023.
The semifinal clash between Ruud and Zverev presents a significant challenge for both players. Zverev has struggled in the semifinals of Grand Slam tournaments, losing four out of his previous five encounters at this stage. Additionally, his win/loss record against top-10 players in slams stands at a discouraging 1-12.
With both players not performing at their peak form throughout the 2023 season, this semifinal match appears evenly poised. Neither Ruud nor Zverev is expected to hold a significant advantage, setting the stage for a thrilling contest where both players will be vying for a spot in the final.
The anticipation surrounding this semifinal may be lower compared to the other matchup, but it would be unwise to underestimate the determination and hunger of both Ruud and Zverev as they compete for a chance to lift the runner-up trophy at the French Open.

Predictions
First of all if you are looking for the best tennis bookies to place your bets for the semie finals, look no further as we have them all here. Its going to be tough to predict who will as at this stage of the tournament matches can go either way especially with the quality of players left. First I am going with Casper Ruud to beat Alexander Zverev as he has shown that he can handle the pressure and has shown incredible fight and consistency. Zverev had some good matches but he still can go up another step, also under pressure I think Ruud will do better. As for Alcaraz v Djokovic, Alcaraz is a quite the heavy favourite at odds of around 1.45 which I think gives Djokovic good value however I will not risk that and go for Over 38.5 games.
