With five victories under his belt, including a successful outing on turf at Chester should go well while Fulfilled, a progressive son of Ulysses has  two wins this campaign, including a confident victory at Lingfield. His staying-on third at Windsor in the last outing suggests he could get back to his winning ways if the race unfolds in his favour.

However, her recent fifth-place finish in a Group 2 race at Royal Ascot suggests she’s still competitive. To repeat last year’s victory, she’ll need to return to her best form, but she’s known to perform well here, and Ryan Moore retains the ride.

Heredia is in excellent form, having won her first four starts, including the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot in 2022. She resumed her winning ways at Haydock three weeks ago, where she triumphed by a convincing 3¾ lengths over Purplepay. With her current form, she looks like the main danger.

There’s a good mix of seasoned contenders and promising up-and-comers set to battle it out here and my view is that Apollo One stands as a top choice in this competitive field. His impressive form on both turf and the all-weather towards the end of last season has seamlessly transitioned into this year. Placing in all four starts in competitive 6f handicaps, including notable events like the Wokingham and Stewards’ Cup.

Tis Marvellous Hasn’t found his stride this season, however his track record speaks volumes, having won this very race 12 months ago and the 2021 edition as well. With the potential to bounce back. , Kerdos  is another interesting prospect, showing promise with a respectable fifth-place finish in a Group 2 race at Goodwood. However Apollo One’s consistent form and adaptability make him my choice

Military Order had a disappointing run when considered one of the favourites for the Derby. However, the track conditions and quick ground might have been factors affecting his performance, given his size. He had previously left a strong impression at Lingfield, and this race offers a chance for him to bounce back. Lone Eagle showed promise with a good second-place finish in the Ormonde Stakes here and should not be ruled out in this less challenging company. Divine Jewel also deserves respect in this competitive field.

Inishfallen ran well with a good third-place finish in a York nursery, although this race might demand a bit more. Mortlake is coming off a smooth win at Leicester and let’s not forget Starlore, who triumphed over the same course and distance in July – there’s no doubt that he’s got more in store. Still, the pick is , Aablan’s his debut win and his top-notch yard make him the standout contender in this race.
