2023 ATP tour Clay Court Season.

Wednesday 5th April results for the ATP Tour, also predictions for upcoming matches.

Wednesday the 5th was mainly dominated by rain with both Houston and Marrakech having most of the matches postponed. That meant that all eyes were on the Estoril Open on clay as rain did not halt play. Portugal provided some exciting and good matches with the biggest surprise being the elimination of Fabio Fognini by his compatriot Marco Cecchinato. Fognini showed some glimpses of good form in his first match which makes the surprise even bigger despite both players having similar rankings. Casper Ruud seemed to be the next big name out after losing the first set to an inspired Joao Sousa 6-4, however the current Roland Garros Finalist had other ideas as he rallied back to win the second and third sets 6-2. Alejandro Davidovich Fokina won his match against Luca van Assche in straight sets. Today we have a packed day of tennis to make up for the rain delays with Dominic Thiem, John Isner and Francis Tiafoe all in action.
