ATP Tour Monte Carlo Quarter Final results, also predictions and a preview for the upcoming Semi Finals.

Yesterday’s 4 Quarter Finals saw 3 out of the 4 bookie favourites win with one upset even though there was potential for further upsets. In the first match Andrey Rublev had a very good start winning the first set 6-1. The second set saw Jan-Lennard Struff raise his game and take the Russian to a tie-break but he did not manage to force a deciding set, overall still a good week for the German. In the second match Taylor Fritz had a blistering start were he was aggressive and seemed like he could not miss. This startled Tsitsipas and he could not find any answers. Fritz kept his form and did let the World number 3 back in the match eventually winning 6-2, 6-4. The third quarter final provided another dominating display, this time for Holger Rune who beat Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 6-4. The young Dane was slight favourite but I expected a win for the Russian in this match as he was showing big improvements on the surface. The battle of the 21 year old Italians was the final match of the day and this match showed Jannik Sinner has not dropped off his United States form, in fact he seems to have surpassed it as he was relentless against Musetti not giving him a single chance winning 6-2, 6-2.

Semi Final Previews

Rublev vs Fritz

The first semi final sees World number 6 Andrey Rublev take on world number 10 Taylor Fritz. Bookies have this one evenly matched. Both players played well in their respective quarter final matches but based on form I will have to go with Fritz as he was on fire yesterday.

Prediction: Fritz to Win @ 1.91

Sinner vs Rune

Bookies have Jannik Sinner as favourite for this one and in my opinion rightly so as yesterday’s quarter finals was one of the best performances from any player throughout the tournament. Both players have a similar game and style but the last few months have shown that Sinner has developed firther than Rune and his form is proving this, I expect another dominant display from the Italian.

Prediction: Sinner to Win 2-0 @ 2.35
