ATP Tour Rome Qualifying

Yesterday the first round of qualifying got underway and despite being pre-tournament we had some big names on display considering the level of this tournament. The likes of Yannick Hanfmann, Daniel Altmaier, Hugo Grenier, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Alexei Popyrin & Juan Manuel Cerundolo all progressing to the next round of qualifying which will take place today.

Yesterday the draw for the main round was made and we got some exciting first round matches to look forward to with the main one being Andy Murray vs Fabio Fognini. What makes this match up extra interesting as they haven’t gotten along in the best of manners in the past and here is a bit of a taste of that:

Grenier to win a set v Hanfmann
Ymer to win a set v Altmaier
Kokkinakis 2-0 Choinski
Cerundolo 2-0 Barrios Vera
Safiullin 2-0 Kopriva
